The traditional Pack 24 hiking & biking outing will be held this coming Sunday (June 22) at the Cook County Forest Preserve near Palos Heights. This location is the same one we have visited for the past few years, and if you haven’t attended previously its only a short 20 minute drive from the Riverside area.
With rain expected this week, the trails may be quite soggy / muddy for riding, so the primary emphasis will be on a hike beginning at the Pulaski West area, #20 marked on the maps below. Event organizers Mike Johnson and Chris Pacourek will also have an optional mountain biking trip for anyone that is feeling adventurous and has has very sound biking skills. Plan on leaving Riverside by 9:30am so we can meet up by 10am at the woods and begin the activities soon thereafter. All families will need to arrange for the transport of their own bikes.
- Click here to register. To get a good count for our lunch order, the registration will end on Saturday, June 21.
- If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we will try to make arrangements to do a local hike, or we may need to cancel the outing to be safe.
Sandwich lunch will be served at approximately noon. All scouts that participate will be eligible for a summertime activity pin that can be worn on their class “A” uniform shirt. The cost for all of this fun will be $5 per person and siblings are welcome to attend as well.
