Have you missed us? We’ve missed you! Let’s get together to kick off a great Scouting season, and bring your friends and neighbors who may be interested in joining Cub Scouts! We will have a picnic full of food, friends, and fun.
When? Sunday, August 27th, 12 pm – 3:00 pm
Where? Scout Cabin, 417 Fairbank Rd.
What?
- We’ll have burgers, hot dogs, desserts, and plenty of food all around.
- Activity stations will include Build-a-Blinkie, tug of war, ghost in a bag experiment, and of course, water bottle rockets!
- Leaders will be on hand to get your scout registered for this upcoming year.
- We’ll have information about our Fall popcorn fundraiser.
- All activities are free of charge EXCEPT Build-a-Blinkie (a “learn-to-solder” project). The first 50 prospective, new, or returning Scouts to visit the registration table near the door of the Scout cabin will receive a ticket for a FREE Build-a-Blinkie kit. Any additional Scouts, parents, or siblings will need to pay $6 per kit (cash or card).
What Should I Bring?
- Camp chairs if you want to sit, eat, and chill
- Water bottle rocket to launch (see instructions below)
- Bug spray and sun screen
Follow these instructions to build your own rocket to bring to the picnic (we’ll provide the launcher). Let’s see how high we can fly this year!
Steps to register for the new Scouting year!
- Pay your national/council fees and subscribe to Scout Life magazine.
- Submit a printed copy of your Annual Health & Medical Record to a Pack or Den Leader.
- Sell some popcorn!!! Information will be provided at the picnic and via the next web post. Any Scouts who do not sell at least $500 in popcorn product will be responsible for $125 in Pack dues in November 2023.
