We thank all of the parents that volunteered to help with the Pinewood Derby last Saturday. We had 62 scouts participate, and with your assistance, the we were able to stay on our schedule. Email your pictures to us (at email@example.com) so we can add them to our photo gallery, which can be found here. Or even better, follow this link to upload your own pictures directly to the gallery. The upload key is “2013PinewoodDerby” (no spaces).
- Missing Cars? Cars #4, #5 and #22 were left at the event and will be given to your den leader.
Next Sunday (January 27) is the Pack 24 outing to the Chicago Steel Hockey Game. We’re sort of surprised that only a half-dozen families have registered for this event. Maybe its due to the fact the NHL lockout is finally over. However, let us assure that this event is much more economical, with prices per person well under $10 and this includes a patch for your scout and a snack. The game is at 3pm in Bensenville, click here for full details or here to register.
- Payment Questions. Now some families brought payment to the Pinewood Derby, but since we failed to make an announcement of what to do, most were not collected. Please bring your payment to Chris Pacourek at 152 Gage or Jim Jerz at 281 Northwood or Bill Schlesser at 3400 Hollywood Ave (in Brookfield) by this Friday, January 25.
- Flag Ceremony. Webelos scouts are invited to help us conduct the flag ceremony on the ice at the start of the game. Be sure to arrive early and look for Jim Jerz who will coordinate this activity with the game officials. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, if your Webelos scout is available for this event.
Scout Sunday is February 3. All Pack 24 cub scouts are welcomed to come to the church service at Riverside Presbyterian. This is a great way to meet the people in the congregation that gives so much support to Pack 24. More details to follow.
Blue & Gold Banquet will be held on on Sunday, February 24. At this event we recognize all cub scout accomplishments for the year and bid farewell to our Webelos II as they officially cross-over to join the ranks of the Boy Scouts. The entire family is welcome to attend. Registration will begin soon.
