Pinewood Volunteers Requested

ScoutStuff.orgThe Pack 24 Pinewood Derby is only a week away!  This is our biggest single event of the year and we expect nearly all of our 70 scouts to participate.  To ensure that the event runs smoothly, we ask that one parent from each family volunteer for at least one shift.  While many parents signed up to help during the December pack meeting, we need help especially with the movie room and post-race cleanup.

  • Movie Room:  We will be playing movies in the youth room which adjoins the upstairs gym where we will be racing.  We need two parents in the room at all times to keep an eye on things.
  • Post race cleanup:  Please help the leaders put away tables, chairs and the track once the race is over.  We will begin cleanup immediately after the awards ceremony probably by 3:30 or so.

Registration begins at 10am and closes promptly at noon.  We need to close registration so we can make sure to update the software for the race so the derby goes smoothly.  We will also be tabulating the votes for the best design categories so we can announce the design winners at the beginning of the race.  During the lunch break, the Girl Scouts from Troop 657 will be running a concession stand in the downstairs social hall, so please visit them for delicious and nutritious lunch.

We’ll have an opening flag ceremony, announcements, awards at 12:45 so racing can begin by 1:00pm.
