Pack 24 is continuing our long-standing tradition of our fall outing at the Scout Cabin in Riverside; this year’s campout will take place October 13 to 14. For new scout families, this event is a great way to try out camping for the first time with the safety net of knowing the comforts of home are nearby. Also, the whole family is welcome to partake in the activities we have planned, such as:
- A zip line
- Treasure hunt
- Scout skill training
- A special scout craft
- Campfire songs, skits, stories and s’mores!
Activities will begin in the early afternoon on Saturday and will wrap up on Sunday morning.
The early registration fee is $6 for scouts, $9 for adults and siblings; these will cover the cost of the take-home craft, dinner on Saturday, breakfast on Sunday and some additional surprises along the way. We need to buy our materials and food in advance so the registration fee will increase for any families that register at the last minute. The Pack is heavily subsiding the cost of the campout to encourage as many families as possible to attend. Last year we had over 90 people participate in the camp out, although not everyone stayed overnight.
Due to the size of the group, we are going to ask that as part of the registration process, we are going to ask parents to help us with some of the clean-up duties after the meals and at the end of the event on Sunday. Click here to register today, or email us at pack24riverside@gmail.com with any questions.
Also – don’t forget about the registration for the Wrigley Field trip on Saturday, October 20th. Its about 50% full so far and siblings will be permitted to register starting on Monday, September 24.
