Dear Scouting Family,
Today, during our Blue and Gold celebration, we’ll hear about how you can support Scouting through the Invest in Character campaign.
Once a year, we host a short presentation to the parents, guardians, and friends of our Scouts on Invest in Character (IIC) – our Scouting council’s annual campaign to strengthen and sustain Scouting across Pathway to Adventure Council.
While the annual fees paid for national registration, Scout Life, and unit dues cover membership and expenses specific to our unit, IIC supports Scouting at the local level.
This Includes: Camp Owasippe & Betz Operations, Scout & Adult Leadership Development, Merit Badge & Career Exploration Programs, Financial Support for Scouts, Program Equipment & Supplies, Safeguarding Youth, New Scout Enrollment, Scout & Adult Leadership Development, & Professional Service Center Support.
It costs approximately $365 per Scout, per year (about $30 per month) to provide these services through the Pathway to Adventure Council. During the presentation, you’ll learn more about how these funds are used and the different ways families can choose to participate. You’ll also have the opportunity to make a pledge or donation in whatever way works best for you. Every family’s situation is different, and gifts at any level help make a meaningful impact.
I truly believe Invest in Character plays an important role in sustaining the Scouting experience for our youth, and I appreciate you taking the time to listen, ask questions, and thoughtfully consider participating. Thank you for your continued support and for being part of our Scouting family.
Yours in Scouting,
Natalie Wetzel, Cub Scout Pack 24 New Member Coordinator
