Pack 24 News

Pack 24 will not have a Tuesday night pack meeting in February, our normally scheduled Tuesday night meetings resume in March.  The Blue & Gold banquet a the end of February serves as our pack meeting.  Registration for the Blue & Gold Banquet will begin soon, and will feature a great science show – so stay tuned for details.

We had 59 scouts race in our pinewood derby last weekend, there was an awesome variety of cars on display.  Congratulations to all the scouts that won a speed or design prize.  We also had 17 participants in our first-ever “Parents Pinewood” the Friday night before the scout event and congratulations to our racing champion Rich Duff and design winner Joanne Gibson for her “Pizza Rat” car.

Mark your calendars for the morning of March 5 for our annual pancake breakfast with the boy scouts of troop 24.  The boy scouts cook up the pancakes & sausage, and  our cub scouts serve the food and bus dishes in the dining room.  We will start a sign up so our scouts can register for 45 minute shifts, we ask each scout to serve at least one shift to help us ensure good coverage for this event.  Pancake tickets to this event were distributed at the pinewood derby last weekend.  Your den leader has your pancake tickets if you didn’t make it to the derby.  Tigers have four tickets to sell ($20), and all our scouts have ten to sell ($50).  Sale of these tickets is a condition to your scout’s membership in pack 24.

  • Crossing -over Webelos II will be turning in the money to the tickets they collected to the Troop 24 boy scouts.
  • More information on where to turn in ticket sales money will be provided soon.
