Pack 24 leader Denny Georgopulos has arranged for a special behind the scenes tour of the home of the Chicago Cubs on October 20. Scouts and akeylas will be able to see nearly everything that is usually off limits during a ball game: locker rooms, press box, grounds crew area and more. After our 90 minute tour, we will walk over to D’Agostinos for a lunch of all-you-can-eat pizza, sides and drinks.
To make the outing more convenient for parents, and hopefully a little more fun for the scouts, we will also charter a school bus to take us on this trip as a group. We’re looking forward to “Cub” Master Art Perry leading us in some songs on our trip there. The leadership team may also have a few fun bonuses for scouts along the way.
Our schedule is as follows:
- 8:30 scouts / akeylas arrive at Riverside Presbyterian Church
- 8:45 begin boarding a chartered school bu,
- 9:45 arrive at Wrigley
- 10:00 Behind the scenes tour begins
- 11:30 Tour is over, walk over to lunch
- 12:00 Lunch at D’Agostinos (three blocks away from Wrigley), unlimited pizza, salad, sides & drinks.
- 1:00 Get back on the bus to return to Riverside
- 2:00 Arrive back at RPC, trip is complete
The cost of this outing is $15 per scout and $25 per adult; the lower cost for scouts is due to a subsidy from the Pack. Like all of our outings, each scout that attends must be accompanied by a parent or akelya. Also, as we have limited space on the bus, siblings will not be permitted to join us for the outing at this time; if there is space available, we may be able to let siblings attend.
So, as space is limited, and available on a first-paid, first-served basis, we encourage you to register today by clicking here. If space is available, we will open registration to siblings on Monday, September 24, and will close registration on Friday, September 28. Once we order the tickets in early October they are non-refundable, so if you have to cancel after registering, we will only be able a partial refund.
A note to our scouts which are White Sox fans. Don’t feel discouraged that we’re not heading down to the Cell for a tour, we’ll work on it for the future. If your akelya has any special contacts with the Sox, email us, and we’ll see what we can arrange for next year.
