Cantigny is only 19 miles west of us, but there’s not a super-direct way of driving straight there. Quickest way is probably this (a little bit longer distance, but less time):
- I-290 west to I-88 (toll)
- Exit I-88 at Winfield Road (exit 125 I believe)
- Head north on Winfield Rd about 3 miles to the entrance (on your right)
You can also take either Butterfield Road or Roosevelt Road part of the way, depending on how adventurous you’re feeling and how far out of your way you want to avoid traveling.
If you arrive after the main gate is closed (gate closes 1 hour before sunset, which is 7:36PM, so the gate will probably be closed around 6:30PM) you will need to enter through the private drive just north of the main gate. Just drive a little further north on Winfield Road and pull up to the gate on this private drive. The gate will open when you pull in to the driveway. Security will greet you and escort you to our campground.
