The Pack 24 Pinewood Derby is right around the corner!
The derby will be held on Saturday, February 1 at the Riverside Township Hall, 27 Riverside Road. Check-in begins at 10:00 AM and racing begins at 1:00 PM. Lunch will be available starting around 11:45.
If your scout hasn’t gotten their car yet, they should contact their den leader.
Friday evening, January 31 will be set-up and the Akela/Open race. If any parents, grandparents, friends, siblings, or mysterious strangers want to build and race derby cars, this is their chance. Additional derby car kits can be purchased at the LaGrange Scout shop. Rules are the same as for the scouts. Entry is $10 cash. Eternal glory as well as trophies for the fastest car in the race and “best-in-show” design are on the line.
The La Grange Scout Shop, 27 Calendar Ave., La Grange will offer car-cutting the next three Saturdays, January 11, 18, and 25 from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. If you need a hand cutting out your derby car stop in for some expert help.
We will need a number of adult volunteers to make the derby run smoothly. Watch for an e-mail soon about helping with set-up, check-in, lunch, activities, and racing.
