Help Riverside plant 1,000 trees!

Please mark your calendars for Sat, Nov 23 from 10 am – 3 pm to help Riverside plant 1,000 trees near the river in Riverside’s first district.

Riverside resident Tom Sisulak and Forester Mike Collins will be leading a quick discussion about the importance of trees and explaining the various native trees of Riverside at the Scout Cabin at 10 am. Following the discussion, he will divide the attendees into 10 groups, with each team planting 100 trees along the river area. Following the planting, attendees are invited to come back to the Scout Cabin with its crackling fireplace for a hot lunch of chili and/or soup.

This event is really fun, informative and a great way for Scouts and teens to earn service hours and give back to the community. DRESS WARM!!! It’s been known to snow and be quite chilly during this annual event in years past.

This is not a Scout-sponsored event, but some Troop 24 Boy Scouts and Leaders will be there, so if you go be sure to have your Scout wear their hat to represent Pack 24!
