Our first pack meeting of the year is Tuesday, September 10 at 7pm. We are meeting over at the Scout Cabin in the Indian Gardens off Fairbank Road. We’ll have segments to give to scouts that participated in our summer activities and a few announcements about our upcoming popcorn campaign. The most fun part of the meeting will be when we head outside for a campfire and have a few songs & s’mores. Be sure your scout wears his Class “A” uniform with scarf & slide.
Please invite any friends, neighbors or family members that have a boy in the first to fifth grades to attend this meeting so they can learn more about Pack 24 and what we have planned for the year. We’ll have applications on hand and leaders that will be available to answer any questions.
And now for something completely different.
The Des Plaines Valley Council hosts a Polar Prowl event for all of the packs in our area each January. As part of this event, they hosting a design competition to design the decoration for the patch that will be given to all scouts that participate in this event. Download the information on this program to get all of the details. VT_PolarProwlPatch We think it would be very cool if someone from Pack 24 won the bragging rights to tell everyone that he designed the patch that will be worn by dozens if not hundreds of other scouts. The deadline is October 28!
Here is the design from a previous year, it’s pretty cool, but your scout could probably do better.
