2022 Save the Dates for Summer Scouting!

As cold as it has been this week, it is hard to believe we are already thinking about summer! Please keep reading to learn about ways your family can stay connected to Scouting this summer and let us know if you can volunteer to help with any events.

Summer Pack Event

We are planning a summer Pack event for either Saturday, 6/4 or 6/11. We would like to plan the content based on the planning team’s strengths. Possible ideas include: Potluck Picnic with Kite Flying, Pack Fishing Trip, STEM Day, or…? If you would like to volunteer for the event planning team, please let Natalie Wetzel (owensnf@gmail.com) know ASAP!

Camp Wolverine (Register here)

Registration for Camp Wolverine is now available at the above link. Cub Scouts may attend the camp on any of the dates advertised, but we are encouraging Webelos (rising 4th & 5th graders) from our Pack to attend the session on June 19-22 so we can attend camp together.

Riverside Fourth of July Parade & Summer Fundraiser

Please plan to join us in Riverside’s annual parade on the morning of Monday, 7/4. Following the parade, we hope to have a Pack fundraiser. In the past, we have made and sold fresh lemonade in Guthrie Park, but we are unsure if this will be possible this year due to COVID restrictions. If you are interested in serving on the summer fundraiser planning team, please let Jen Suszek (jmsuszek@gmail.com) know.

Cub Scout Day Camp (Register here)

Information about local day camps is still forthcoming. However, the closest day camp to Riverside should be taking place July 18-22, so please save those dates! Note that in the past a parent was required to attend camp with rising 1st graders but older Cub Scouts could attend without a parent. We are unsure of this year’s policy at this time.

Cub Scout Family Camps

Camp Betz (Register here)

Registration for Camp Betz is now open at the above link. All Pack families are welcome to attend any of the camp sessions, but we are encouraging everyone to attend the session on August 5-7 if possible so we can enjoy the camp together.

Camp Reneker (Register here)

Camp Reneker offers a weeklong family camp, and registration is open. At this time, there is not a group from our Pack planning to attend this camp. If your family chooses this camping experience please let us know how it goes!

Pack 24 Kickoff Picnic

We typically hold our kickoff event on one of the last two Sundays in August. If you are interested in helping to plan this event, please reach out to Kevin Masters (kevinkooljeep@yahoo.com).
