2016 B&G PatchPlease join us on Sunday, February 28 at 4pm for the annual Blue & Gold banquet to celebrate the founding of the Scouting movement in 1910 and recognize the achievements of our crossing-over Webelos II scouts.

There will also be an awesome science show, described as part science and part magic.  Of course, there will also be good food, because this is a banquet after all.  Some scouts say the roast potatoes are the BST EVR!

Of course there is also a patch and a commemorative program.  The banquet is at the Riverside Golf Club, located just east of Des Plaines avenue in North Riverside.  Click here to see other posts with more information on the Blue & Gold events or just click here to register.  The deadline to register & pay is Monday, February 22, since we need to give a head count to the venue.

Yummy - pancakes!

Yummy – pancakes!

Signup for the March 5 pancake breakfast has begun!  Click here to go to the signup genius site. We ask each scout to serve at least one 45 minute shift in the dining room.

On the subject of pancakes, please continue to turn in your pancake ticket sales as well.  You can turn these in to our new pancake maven Rachel Schrier @ 296 Herrick Rd in Riverside.  Please let your den leader know if you didn’t get tickets, since all scouts need to sell their tickets to support the pack.

Note: soon to cross-over Webelos II will turn these in directly to the Troop 24 contacts listed on their envelopes.

Tecumseh Sign

Speaking of marking your calendars.  Pack 24 is returning to visit awesome Camp Tecumseh from Friday, April 29 to Sunday, May 1.  During our visit last year, our scouts had a great time with all the activities, which included rifle marksmanship, archery, climbing, candle-making, horse back riding, the obstacle course, and a great camp fire program.  All the accommodations were bunk house style cabins, which had modern indoor plumbing and bathrooms.  The food was pretty good too.  So stay tuned for more info, but in the meantime, save the dates.
