Cub Scout Bike Hike Details

Happy Memorial Day Weekend Pack 24!

This year’s outing is scheduled for June 19 and will feature a ride along the the I&M Trail that begins at Columbia Woods in Willow Springs.  All cub scouts and families are welcome to participate.  Everyone is encouraged to bike at their own pace and ride for as long or as short as you wish.  The trail is approximately 13 miles long or 26 miles round-trip, but families are free to turn-around at any point.  The Pack has reserved a pavilion with a shelter and picnic tables in the Columbia Woods Grove #2 to serve as our base of operations for the outing.

The Staubus family will provide a trailer for any folks that need help transporting their bikes out to the I&M trail.  The Janopolous family is coordinating a post-ride lunch to feed the hungry bikers.

So to recap the details:

Who:  All Pack 24 cub scouts and their families

What:  An “at your pace” ride along a beautiful stretch of Cook Country Forest Preserve with lunch served to all participants

Where:  The starting point is the Columbia Woods in Willow Springs, a map and directions will follow

When:  Sunday, June 19 (Father’s Day) at 10:00 am CT (bring the whole family along to celebrate with Dad); if you need help transporting your bike, come to the parking lot behind Central School at 9:00am CT on Sunday.  The Staubus family will be there until 9:20am to load bikes into their trailer but then they have to leave to unload bikes at 10am in Willow Springs.
