Spring Campout at Cantigny

Tanks, water rockets, s’mores, tents and more tanks…what does it mean?!?   That’s right, its finally time to sign up for the Spring Campout at Cantigny in Wheaton, IL which will begin the afternoon of Friday, May 6.

A Cantigny Tank

Our space is limited to a total of 75 people, which includes both scouts and parents, so the sign-up will be on a first-paid, first-serve basis.  The cost will be only $10 for each person attending, either scout or parent.  Click here to complete our sign up form, and then bring your registration fee to Jim Jerz as detailed in the confirmation message and email (pro tip:  he will be at the next pack meeting on Tuesday Apri l 12, so give him the payment when you see him there and save yourself a trip).

We are planning activities such as:

  • Fire safety demonstration and flag retirement ceremony from the Boy Scouts of Troop 24
  • Campfire songs with Cubmaster Art Perry
  • Water rocket construction and launching
  • Downtime so the scouts can explore and play on the tanks
Another Cantigny Tank

You can check in by 4pm on Friday, May 6, which is also an institute day for District 96 schools.  Activities will run through the afternoon of Saturday, May 7.  Meals will be included in the registration cost.

If that wasn’t enough, all scouts that attend the campout will receive a patch that was made especially to commemorate the occasion.

More details such as where to go and what to bring will be published as we get closer to the event, but if you have any questions, ask your den leader.
