Troop 24 has organized an outing to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois (about 1 hour travel from Riverside, just south of Joliet) so that we can participate in this year’s “Wreaths Across America” program.

The wreath-laying tradition was started in 1992 with 4,000 wreaths and two people at Arlington National Cemetery. In 2006, the non-profit organization Wreaths Across America was born and in 2010 will place over 16,000 wreaths at hundreds of cemeteries and memorial sites across the U.S., with your help.
